Dzhemilev says "not enough resources" for effective naval blockade of Crimea

Ukrainian President’s Envoy for the Crimean Tatar people and MP Mustafa Dzhemilev says it is impossible to set up a naval blockade of the occupied Crimea to date.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UAA1 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A naval blockade is a complicated issue, said Dzhemilev in an interview with the RBC-Ukraine news agency.

He noted that a full-scale naval blockade would only be possible in case a sufficient number of warships was involved.

"We have no such resources. For example, if there is a decision of the UN Security Council and NATO warships come into play, then this will be another question," said Dzhemilev.

In addition, he noted that the activists of the blockade of the occupied peninsula do have certain plans related to paralyzing the Kerch ferry leading to mainland Russia.

As UNIAN reported earlier, one of the organizers of the Crimea blockade Lenur Islyamov predicted the start of the naval blockade of Crimea in late 2015 - early 2016. He also noted that the blockade activists sought to make the lives of the invaders “as uncomfortable as possible.”

The trade blockade was launched on September 22, 2015.
