Ukraine's major state-owned arms manufacturer Ukroboronprom has created the Ukrainian Aircraft Corporation within its structure, thereby combining all aircraft manufacturing enterprises of the country into a single cluster, according to the concern's press service.
As noted, the State Enterprise Antonov will be the corporation's core enterprise. In addition, the corporation includes specialized research institutes, Novator state-owned enterprise, Kharkiv machine-building plant FED, Kharkiv Aggregate Design Bureau, and PJSC Plant Mayak.
Ukroboronprom says that the formation of this cluster is an advanced practice successfully implemented by worldwide aircraft giants, such as Boeing and Airbus. Ukrainian cluster will also be built according to the standard world scheme, and open to other enterprises of any form of ownership.

In addition, it will accelerate the process of import substitution and give a new impetus to scientific and technological development of the country as a whole.

According to Ukroboronprom, the cluster will introduce common mechanisms of planning mass production, create a single center of procurement of materials and components, unify product marketing and ensure sales.
Later, Antonov's press service said that former Antonov CEO Mykhaylo Gvozdov would become Head of Board of the Ukrainian Aircraft Corporation.

State-run Ukroboronprom Concern was established in 2010 to ensure effective operations and management of state-owned business entities that develop, manufacture, sell, repair, modernize and scrap weapons, military and special equipment and ammunition, and participate in the military and technical cooperation. The Concern incorporates over a hundred enterprises of Ukraine's defense industry.
