Groysman: Gov’t must work for those who create economy

The newly set up Investment Support Office of Ukraine will serve as a mechanism to solve problems of businesses and support new investment projects, as stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman during a presentation of the Investment Support Office of Ukraine at a Government meeting on Wednesday, according to the Cabinet press service.

"I'd like each region to determine clear indicators for each business project in five-10 positions. If it’s "green", the situation is normal, the investor is fine. As soon as we get information that there are problems with either tax authorities or regulatory agencies, we have to provide help immediately to remove all those problems, even if this process goes unnoticed by the investor," said Volodymyr Groysman.

The Prime Minister noted that he had been an initiator of creation of the Investment Support Office aiming to form an efficient mechanism to support and protect investments.

Mr Groysman expressed his assurance that the task of attracting additional resource into the Ukrainian economy is easily attainable.

In this regard the Head of Government urged representatives of government to realize the importance of their work and prompt them to service the business.

"We should work for the economy and for those who create the economy. I am ready to work round the clock for those who invest in Ukraine, who create jobs and the national product," he stressed.

He thanked First Deputy Finance Minister Oksana Markarova for the formation of the Office and the team, as well as Western NIS Enterprise Fund for the support and funding the establishment and operation of the Office. He noted that the Fund had conducted a "brilliant" unbiased contest to select the management staff.

"The only task for us is to gain pace and do quality work," said Groysman.
