Ukraine exports over 23 mln tonnes of grain since July

Ukrainian farmers have exported 23.07 million tonnes of grain since the start of the 2016-2017 marketing year (July 2016 – June 2017), which is 1.5 million tonnes up year-over-year, according to the Ukrainian Agrarian Policy and Food Ministry's press service.

In particular, wheat exports totaled 11.5 million tonnes, barley shipments were 4.3 million tonnes, and those of maize were 7.1 million tonnes.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine exported a record high amount of grain in the 2015-2016 MY (July 2015 – June 2016), having sold 39.4 million tonnes of grain abroad. The previous record was registered in the 2014-2015 MY, when grain exports stood at 34.8 million tonnes.

The Agrarian Policy Ministry forecasts that grain exports may hit 41.6 million tonnes in the current MY.
