Ukraine increases monetary base by almost 14% in 2016

The monetary base in Ukraine increased by 13.6% in 2016, as compared to 2015, to reach UAH 381.575 billion, according to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU).

In December, the monetary base increased by 6.7%.

The central bank also said that the amount of out-of-bank cash grew by 8.9% in December, and has increased by 11.5% since the beginning of the year, amounting to UAH 315.175 billion.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the monetary base in 2015 grew by 0.8% to UAH 336 billion.
