More vacancies in labor market suggest crisis overcome – Groysman

The number of vacancies in the labor market increased by 46% in 2016, and this was an indication that most of the companies were able to overcome the crisis and achieve growth, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman wrote on Facebook.

"Following the results of 2016, we see a positive signal for economic growth: according to HeadHunter Ukraine company, the number of vacancies increased by 46% in 2016, as most companies were able to overcome the crisis and achieve growth. These positive trends should be preserved and strengthened. The government's task is to make economic growth tangible for the citizens," he said.

Earlier, Groysman emphasized that Ukraine currently had all opportunities for economic breakthrough, which would be based on the growth of exports of manufactured goods and increased investment.

The unemployment rate in Ukraine, calculated according to the methodology of the International Labour Organization (ILO) for those aged 15 to 70 years, decreased to 9.1% in 2015, compared to 9.7% in 2014. At the same time, the figure rose in the first quarter of 2016 to 9.9%, or 1.77 million people. Statistical data on results of 2016 has not yet been made public, but the forecast figure is 9.2%. The forecast figure for 2017 is less than 9%.
