Fiscal Service says customs exceed targets by UAH 8 bln

Acting head of Ukraine's State Fiscal Service (SFS) Myroslav Prodan says that the Ukrainian customs in the first quarter of 2017 exceeded the indicative revenue budget plan by over UAH 8 billion, or US$296.18 million, according to the SFS press service.

"Since the beginning of this year, over-fulfillment of the indicative revenue forecasts by customs has been estimated at more than UAH 8 billion," the press service quoted Prodan as saying.

According to the state budget of Ukraine for 2017, the service can use 10% of the amount of over-fulfillment of indicative customs revenue for the development of its infrastructure.

He added that the SFS was selecting the first four checkpoints to get the funds. The checkpoints are expected to be equipped with interactive video monitoring systems, weighing stations, and large-scale scanners.

Prodan also assured that part of the funds would be used to increase the salary of customs officers.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the state budget of Ukraine in January-March 2017 received UAH 179.933 billion in revenue, which exceeded the budget financing targets by 13.8%. Tax revenue in March stood at UAH 36.320 billion, which was 35.2% up from the budget targets, while in January-March the tax revenue amounted to UAH 98.569 billion, that is up by 16.9% on the budget targets.
