Ukrainian businesses expect revival of commercial activity – NBU study

The index of business expectations of managers of Ukrainian enterprises in the first quarter of 2017 increased to 113.3% from 108.7% in the previous quarter, while businesses expect activity to revive for the fourth consecutive quarter.

According to the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), referring to the results of the survey of company managers, businesses are mostly optimistic, first of all, heads of transport and communications enterprises, as well as the processing industry.

In the first quarter, amid a slight increase in devaluation processes, the business weakened inflation expectations from 16.2% in the fourth quarter of 2016 to 15.6%, reads the survey.

At the same time, companies expect an increase in the impact of tax changes on the dynamics of inflationary processes.
