Ukraine's central bank to transfer nearly US$1.66 bln to budget in 2017

Head of the Council of the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Bohdan Danylyshyn has announced that UAH 44.379 billion, or US$1.66 billion, of the profit posted by the central bank in 2016 will be channeled into the national budget in 2017.

The regulator posted UAH 59.451 billion, about $2.22 billion, in profit in 2016, Danylyshyn wrote on Facebook on Tuesday, April 18.

Of the sum, UAH 15.071 billion, or $560 million, will be channeled into the formation of the general reserves of the NBU's net worth.

Read alsoNBU cuts key rate to 13%According to Danylyshyn, the NBU's Council considered the conclusions made by Deloitte and Touche Ukrainian Services Company on the NBU's consolidated financial report for 2016 and endorsed this report along with a report on administrative costs.

The consolidated financial report for 2016 will be posted on the regulator's website, he said.

As UNIAN reported, the NBU transferred UAH 38.16 billion, or $1.42 billion at the current forex rate, in profit for 2015 to the national budget in 2016.

Ukraine's budget for 2017 foresees that the NBU shall transfer at least UAH 45 billion, $1.68 billion, to the state coffers.
