Ukraine's An-124 flies oversize cargo from Chile to Argentina in record time (Photo)

The Antonov An-124 Ruslan aircraft has transported two filtration pipeline blocks weighing a total of 24 tonnes from Santiago de Chile to Mendoza (Argentina), on the order of Hunt & Palmer Cargo Charters.

On Saturday, June 3, the plane delivered two large 12-meter long, 4-meter wide and some 3.6-meter wide industrial filtration blocks to Argentina in just 39 minutes, according to the Centre for Transport Strategies (CTS).

According to a representative of Hunt & Palmer Cargo Charters, Dan Litten, the company did not want to take risks, trying to transport the cargo by road, given unfavorable weather conditions, so they went for the airlift option.

Martin Banns, Commercial Executive at Antonov Airlines, said it was one of the shortest flights over the last 10 years of the company's operations.
