Ukraine revises upwards GDP growth assessment for Q1

Ukraine's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter (Q1) of 2017 increased by 2.5% compared to the same period of 2016, according to the Ukrainian State Statistics Service's updated assessment.

The agency earlier published its preliminary assessment on May 15, where it estimated GDP growth in the first three months of 2017 at 2.4%, which was 0.1 percentage points down on the new one.

Ukraine's nominal GDP in Q1, 2017, was UAH 583.9 billion, which was UAH 13,721 per capita, it said.

The agency said the data for the first quarter of 2017 is subject to further revision, and an updated report is due in March 2018, while the final one will be published in March 2019.

Reports from occupied areas in Donbas and Crimea are not included.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's GDP in 2016 grew by 2.3% from 2015. It was the first growth in the past four years after the country's economy declined by 9.8% in 2015 and 6.6% in 2014. GDP growth in 2013 was zero.
