Ukraine's First Deputy Defense Minister Ivan Rusnak estimates total losses from the destruction of infrastructure in war-torn Donbas caused by Russian aggression are estimated at about US$50 billion, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"Facilities of energy, transport, social, and other types of infrastructure have been destroyed in eastern Ukraine where people have been left without jobs. According to preliminary estimates, the total amount of direct losses inflicted on Ukraine is estimated at about $50 billion," Rusnak said at the 95th Rose-Roth meeting of legislators from NATO member and partner countries in Kyiv.
In his words, the humanitarian situation in Donbas has worsened significantly due to the escalation of the conflict.
"Water, electricity and gas supplies, sanitation and hygiene, food security and nutrition, temporary housing, accommodation and health care for the civilian population need to be addressed as urgent issues," Rusnak said.

"The SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations in Donetsk region between the evenings of June 30 and July 1, including about 120 explosions, compared with about 200 in the previous reporting period [as of June 30]. It recorded more ceasefire violations, though fewer explosions (about 80), between the evenings of July 1 and 2 compared with the previous 24 hours," the OSCE SMM said.
In Luhansk region the SMM recorded fewer ceasefire violations between the evenings of June 30 and July 1, including no explosions, compared with the previous reporting period (about 300 explosions). Between the evenings of July 1 and 2, it recorded more ceasefire violations, including 20 explosions, compared with the previous 24 hours.
