Ukraine's first six cryptomats that sell Bitcoins for cash hryvnias have been installed in Kyiv, according to KUNA Bitcoin Agency.
"An open testing of a cryptomat network in Ukraine began on September 4. A private entrepreneur who has bought the first six terminals to sell Bitcoins for cash has already installed them in Kyiv, two more will appear in Kharkiv next week," the agency said on Facebook.
Read alsoUkraine to decide legal status of cryptocurrencies in 3 weeks - mediaThe technical part of the cryptomat operation is provided by the KUNA cryptocurrency exchange, the purchase is handled at the current Bitcoin rate with the use of the exchange's API.
Upon completion of the testing, everyone will be able to acquire cryptomats for installation. Applications were submitted for more than 150 cryptoterminals across Ukraine.
As UNIAN reported, the National Bank of Ukraine said that the Bitcoin does not fall under the definition of currency, but at the same time, cryptocurrency mining is not a violation of the Ukrainian law.
