Over 63,900 motor vehicles brought from abroad have not been legalized by their owners in the territory of Ukraine, the press office of the State Fiscal Service (SFS) said.
"More than 63,900 cars with foreign registration, including commercial vehicles, imported during 2015-2017 as transited or temporarily imported, remained in Ukraine in violation of legal terms," the press service wrote on Facebook.
The SFS noted that in 2015, out of almost 549,600 cars imported (almost 77,300 in transit mode and 472,300 in temporary import) over 21,500 remained in Ukraine.
In 2016, 54,300 cars failed to exit Ukraine out of almost 712,600 cars (124,100 in transit mode, 588,400 in temporary import). Of these, more than 32,000 vehicles remain country in violation of terms.
"Over seven months of 2017, out of 492,500 cars imported in transit mode (111,900) and temporary import (380,600), almost 72,300 cars failed to exit. Of these, almost 10,400 cars remain in Ukraine with a violation of term," the press service wrote.
Read alsoMotorists block traffic in Kyiv center demanding import duty cuts for cars from EUIt is also noted that since 2015, customs officers have issued over 26,100 notices on violation of customs rules under Article 470 (violation of transit terms) and almost 4,900 notices on violation of customs regulations under Article 481 (violation of temporary import terms) of the Customs Code of Ukraine.
During this period, fines were imposed in the amount of more than UAH 206.5 million for violation of transit terms and temporary import terms.
