Kriukov car building works to boost freight wagon output by third

Kremenchuk-based car building works in Ukraine's Poltava region plans to boost the output of freight wagons by 33%, or 527 units, in 2017 from 2016, to 2,103 units, according to a report by the works sent to Kremenchuk City Administration.

In 2017, the manufacturer is not expected to achieve its production peak recorded in 2013, the report said.

In 2016, the enterprise boosted production by 3.8 times, to 1,576 freight wagons. In addition, it repaired 15 passenger carriages and built nine passenger carriages.

From January to September, 2017, the works increased the output of freight wagons by 27.8%, or 308 units, year-over-year, to 1,415 units.

In the nine months of 2017, it built 26 passenger carriages, whereas it did not manufacture any passenger carriages in the same period of 2016. The works also retrofitted 15 subway cars this year.
