Ukraine says 22 ships illegally entered occupied Crimea ports in Oct

A total of 22 cargo ships illegally entered the ports of the Russian-occupied Crimea in October 2017, including 18 vessels flying the flag of the Russian Federation and three sailing under the Togo flag, according to the press service of Ukraine's Ministry for temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons.

The said vessels entered the ports of Kerch, Sevastopol, and Feodosia 64 times, the report says. 

"As was reported, seaports located on the territory of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, namely the ports of Yevpatoria, Kerch, Sevastopol, Feodosia, and Yalta, are closed by Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine's Order No. 578-r of April 30, 2014 On Certain Issues of Functioning of Maritime and River Transport and Order No. 255 of June 16, 2014 On Closing Down the Sea Ports, issued by Ukraine's Infrastructure Ministry," the report said.

This entails the responsibility of shipowners, operators, and shipmasters, including criminal liability.
