Ukraine and the European Union will work on a new macro-financial assistance program for 2018-2019, Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman said on air of one of the Ukrainian TV channels.
"Now we will work on a new program of macro-financial assistance with the European Union, which will be [set] for 2018-2019," the prime minister said.
As UNIAN reported, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko during a meeting with businessmen in Kyiv said that the European Commission decided to allocate a tranche of macro-financial aid to Ukraine in the amount of EUR 1.8 billion, citing the European Commission’s communique following the talks at the Eastern Partnership summit.

In 2015, the EU offered Ukraine a package of macro-financial repayable assistance amounting to EUR 1.8 billion. Within the framework of this program, Ukraine has received EUR 1.2 billion.

According to the European Commission, since 2014 Ukraine has received a total of EUR 2.61 billion of macro-financial assistance, including EUR 1.61 billion in 2014-2015 and EUR 1.2 billion under the current program in 2015-2017.
