Ukraine still has chance to receive third EUR 600 mln tranche from EU

The European Union will decide on granting Ukraine a third tranche of EUR 600 million under the current Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) program before the end of the year, according to Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli.

On Wednesday, he recalled to reporters that the EU had provided Ukraine with macro-financial assistance estimated at EUR 3.4 billion over the past three years.

In his words, the decision to grant the next tranche worth EUR 600 million will be taken by the end of this year.

However, he stressed that Ukraine had fulfilled only 17 of the 21 conditions under the program, while the disbursement of the said tranche depended on the fulfillment of the four remaining requirements.

The EC noted that four of the measures linked to the third and final tranche of the MFA remained outstanding for the time being.
