Prices of bread and bakery products are expected to grow in Ukraine soon.
This was announced by Director of the Ukrainian Association of Retail Suppliers Oleksiy Doroshenko, according to the TV news service tsn.ua.

The cause behind the growth is an increase in prices of natural gas and power rates.
This is one of the factors affecting the cost, which will change by 10-15%.
In addition, the price of premium-quality bread and confectionery products will grow by 20-25%. The growth is expected because of an increase in purchase prices of grain.
"So far, it is the declaration of [a change in] retail prices [of socially important goods] that currently safeguards consumers against a considerable and quick increase in the prices of bread," Doroshenko wrote.
Currently, retail prices are subject to declaration if they change by 5% or more.
According to him, the government is now analyzing ways to prevent bread price hikes. However, interventions from the state reserve and the Agrarian Fund are not seen as a measure to quickly handle the situation.
