Over half of Ukrainians say their financial condition deteriorates in 2020 – poll

More than half of Ukrainian citizens say their financial condition deteriorated in 2020.

In particular, 51.8% of Ukrainians note a decline in their savings this year, according to a survey conducted by the Social Monitoring Center.

According to statistics, residents of western Ukraine (62.3%) suffered the most from unemployment, while those living in the country's central regions managed to slightly increase their income.

• The poll was run by Kyiv-based NGO Social Monitoring Center in 24 regions of Ukraine and the city of Kyiv on December 17-23.
• Some 2,500 adult respondents were polled using face-to-face interviews at places of their residence.
• The margin of error is between 1.2% and 2.0%.
