A single e-ticket for all types of transport will be launched next month.

"This will be one ticket for all types of transport: by rail, by air inside the country, by bus, and all municipal transport," Ukrainian Infrastructure Minister Vladyslav Kriklii told TV Channel 1+1. "Everything will start inside the country, and then it will be possible to add international transport.

Ukraine will become one of the few European countries that will launch this program beyond one city.

Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipro have already tested their single ticket system. It will work within the framework of municipal transport there.

Kriklii also demonstrated how an e-ticket looks like now: Its size is A4; it has several QR codes and itinerary.

The final version of the e-ticket will look different, Kriklii said.

According to the minister, in fact it will be a small ticket with one QR code that will combine all the necessary modes of transport to be chosen by the passenger. Such tickets will be available through the SmartTicket service approximately one week in advance. This is when the single e-ticket is to be launched.

"First, these will be night trains for Kharkiv, Lviv, Kyiv, and the subways will also be included. All municipal transport in Kyiv will be [added] approximately within a month," he said.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukraine's Cabinet of Ministers on July 29, 2020, approved the launch of a pilot project on the introduction of a single electronic ticket for various types of transport.
