Ukraine's corn is seeing increased planted area and favorable growing conditions.
Ukraine wheat production for 2020/2021 is expected to hit 27 million metric tonnes (mmt), the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) reports, which is up 0.5 mmt to the previous forecast.
Corn production forecast has also been raised by 0.5 mmt, to 39.5 mmt, USDA wrote in its latest World Agricultural Production report.
The forecast was improved for Ukraine's wheat and corn based on the final sown area data released by the State Statistical Service of Ukraine and reports on favorable weather conditions, USDA reported.
"Recent favorable weather was observed for corn in eastern and central Ukraine. Crop conditions improve as one moves south to north. Yields are expected to be the second highest on record, with the previous record at 7.84 t/ha in the 2018 season," reads the report.

Wheat exports in marketing year 2020/2021 (MY July 2020 – June 2021) could reach 18 mmt (+0.5 mmt month-on-month), while corn exports are expected to stand at 33.5 mmt (+0.5mmt).
