Ukraine may get second tranche from IMF under new SBA in Sept – PM Shmyhal

The negotiations on this issue will take place in August.

Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal has said Ukraine may get the second tranche of US$700 million under an 18-month Stand-by Arrangement (SBA) with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in early September.

"The first tranche is US$2.1 billion, the second tranche is another US1.5 billion until the end of this year. Another negotiation will take place in August, and US$700 million is expected in early September," he told one of Ukrainian TV channels.

As UNIAN reported earlier, the Executive Board of the International Monetary Fund on Tuesday approved an 18-month Stand-by Arrangement for Ukraine, with access equivalent to SDR 3.6 billion (about US$5 billion, or 179% of quota).

The first tranche of US$2.1 million is expected until late June.
