Souvenir kiosks torn down on Kyiv's Andriyivskyi Uzviz (Photo)

The Kyiv City State Administration earlier said that only licenced entrepreneurs would be allowed to do business at Kyiv's prominent historical location.

Trading booths were dismantled on Andriyivskyi Uzviz (Descent) in Kyiv overnight Wednesday, April 4.

"That's all. Farewell to retail kiosks on Andriyivskyi," a popular blogger Martin Brest wrote on Facebook.

He also posted photos showing utility crews removing illegally installed kiosks in the vicinity of St. Andrew's (Andriyivska) Church.

At the same time, Deputy Head of Kyiv City State Administration Oleksiy Reznikov said that souvenir dealers had been offered to move to an alternative site near the Andriyivskyi Uzviz, namely the Artist's Alley.
