Court denies Saakashvili status of person requiring protection

The Kyiv District Administrative Court ruled not to satisfy a claim by ex-Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili to the regional office of the State Migration Service of Ukraine to cancel their refusal to issue papers needed to consider the issue of recognizing the politician a person requiring additional protection, according to an UNIAN correspondent.

According to Judge Tetiana Skochok,"the District Administrative Court of Kyiv, having considered the case on the suit of Mikheil Saakashvili to the Kyiv region’s office of the State Migration Service of Ukraine on recognizing as unlawful and annulment of the decision of November 1, 2017, decided to refuse Mr Saakashvili’s claim to the SMS Office in Kyiv region completely.”

As UNIAN reported, today, on January 3, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv considered on merits Saakashvili’s lawsuit against the regional office of the State Migration Service, which on Nov. 1, 2017, refused to register documents to resolve the issue of recognizing him a person requiring additional protection.
