Rallies downtown Kyiv

At 08:00 a.m. local time on Tuesday, November 15, traffic along Kyiv's Independence Square and Khreschatyk Street was blocked by the authorities because of a threat of terrorist attacks.

A number of non-violent protests in the center of Kyiv were scheduled for that day.

In particular, a group of activists said they had come to protest against price hikes and an increase in utilities tariffs. They claim they do not get any payment for participation in the rally.

Another scheduled rally downtown Kyiv is to be staged by bank depositors who have lost their money at bankrupt banks.
