Dutch unveil memorial to victims of Ukraine airplane crash

A memorial to the victims of flight MH17 crash was opened in Amsterdam, in a park near the Schiphol Airport, from where the Malaysian Airlines Boeing 777 took off on a tragic day of July 17, 2014.

A total of 298 trees was planted, in commemoration of 298 people on board MH17 killed as a result of the aircraft's downing by a Buk missile brought to Ukraine from Russia.

The trees are surrounded by sunflowers, which blossom in July. King of the Netherlands Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima attended the opening ceremony along with other officials.
