The Foreign Ministers of Lithuania, Poland, the Netherlands and Denmark call upon the Ukrainian authorities to continue introduction of the reforms necessary for signing of Agreement on association between Ukraine and the European Union.

According to an UNIAN correspondent, they said this at press conference after the meeting with President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych in Kyiv.

Foreign Minister of Poland Radosław Sikorski said that during the meeting with V. Yanukovych the ministers have presented their view of relations of Ukraine with the EU. He noted that it is important in the moment when the decision on signing of Agreement on association, which is “an invitation for Ukraine into the European family”, should be adopted.

“We noted the recent acceleration of efforts directed to introduction of the reforms and we want to call up to move the same way, to accomplish consideration of the laws, to ensure their fulfillment, to finish other issues, which were discussed, and then it is possible to imagine, and it is possible, that a positive decision from the side of the European Union will be made”, - said Radosław Sikorski.

According to the words of Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius, the ministers arrived in Ukraine with hope that all possibilities will be used for achievement of success during the summit of “Eastern partnership” in Vilnius.

He noted that an issue concerning signing of Agreement on association has not been solved yet. According to the words of Linas Linkevičius, during the meeting with V. Yanukovych the ministers discussed in details what should be done for signing of this agreement.

“When the reforms will be implemented, I believe that everyone will be amazed at the fact how much Ukraine can reach as the European county in cooperation with other European nations”, - he said.

Minister for European Affairs of Denmark Nicolai Wammen expressed hope that consent will be reached from the side of the counties of the European Union for signing of Agreement on association with EU and Ukraine. “However, we should be sincere and frank, and to say that we are not at this stage yet”,-  said.

According to the words of Nicolai Wammen, the ministries see important results, which were reached during the previous weeks, and it indicates a movement in right direction, but it is necessary to do more. “And while it is not done, it is impossible to say that we reached the result. It has to do with reforms and the release of those people, who are imprisoned”, - he added.
