Head of the Austrian government, Sebastian Kurz, says Russia is largely responsible for the situation in eastern Ukraine and Syria.
"We talked of what opportunities are out there to ease tensions, remove the tension between Russia and the EU. First of all, I took my chance to voice our expectations, not only with regard to statehood but also international law. Discussing bilateral relations, relations at the EU-Russia level, we talked about crisis hotspots – for example, eastern Ukraine – as well as about the situation in Syria. Of course, Russia is largely responsible here," Kurz said.
He stressed that it was necessary "to do everything to halt these unbearable developments" in Syria.
