Georgia and Ukraine should be backed in their hopes to join NATO, according to a declaration signed at the NATO Parliamentary Assembly’s Spring Session in Poland on Monday.

The Declaration "urges the Heads of State and Government of the member States of the North Atlantic Alliance… to reiterate support for Ukraine’s membership aspiration."

The declaration also urged the leaders to give Bosnia and Herzegovina a reform plan to prepare it for NATO membership, the NATO PA press service reports.

Parliamentarians from NATO nations appealed for Alliance leaders to show unity at their summit in July and demonstrate that the organization remains credible in the face of security threats headed by Russia and terrorism.
