OSCE PA Committee supports draft resolution on human rights violations in Crimea – Chubarov

The vote for the resolution will be held at the OSCE PA plenary session on Wednesday, July 11.

Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Member of Parliament of Ukraine Refat Chubarov says the Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) has supported the draft resolution on violations of human rights in Russian-occupied Crimea.

"The Committee on Democracy, Human Rights and Humanitarian Questions has just supported the draft resolution of the OSCE PA referred to continuing violations of human rights and fundamental freedoms in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol (Ukraine), presented by the Ukrainian delegation," Chubarov wrote on Facebook.

The official added that 35 Committee members had supported that document, with nine having voted against and seven abstained.

"The road to the adoption of the resolution at the OSCE PA plenary meeting, which will be held the day after tomorrow, is open," he summed up.
