Medvedchuk's press service denies acquisition of TV Channel Inter

His press service says there have not been even any plans for concluding such a deal.

The press service of Chairman of the political council of the Opposition Platform – For Life Party Viktor Medvedchuk, the Kremlin's closest ally in Ukraine, denies the acquisition of shares of TV Channel Inter from fugitive oligarch Dmytro Firtash.

"A number of media outlets are spreading false information about the alleged acquisition by Medvedchuk of the Inter TV channel. This information is not true," Medvedchuk's press service wrote on Facebook.

"There is neither the fact of acquiring the channel or a stake in it, nor any plans for concluding such a deal," it said.

Earlier the media reported that Medvedchuk had allegedly bought 80% of Inter's shares from Firtash.

As UNIAN reported, Medvedchuk's ally Taras Kozak, who is running for the Verkhovna Rada, Ukraine's parliament, as a candidate nominated by the Opposition Platform – For Life Party, became the owner of the TV channel ZIK. Thus, Kozak's media assets include three channels now: Channel 112 Ukraine, NewsOne and ZIK.
