Ukraine sends note of protest to Turkey over Erdoğan's meeting with "Crimean lawmakers"

Ukraine has sent a note of protest to Turkey over the meeting of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with so-called "Crimean lawmakers" Natalia Poklonskaya and Ruslan Balbek.

"The information about the meeting of President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan with politicians illegally elected in the occupied territory of Ukraine is giving rise to concern," the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine wrote on Facebook.

It is noted Ukraine has already sent a note of protest to Turkey over the meeting.

Moreover, Turkish ambassador to Ukraine has been invited to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As reported earlier, Natalia Poklonskaya and Ruslan Balbek visited Turkey on October 12 as part of the Russian parliamentary delegation.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea said it would give an appropriate legal assessment of these facts.
