The first official meeting between newly elected President of Poland Andrzej Duda and his Ukrainian counterpart Petro Poroshenko will take place after the inauguration, i.e. after August 6, Deschytsia told journalists at the 8th Kyiv Security Forum, an UNIAN correspondent reported.

To hold the first official meeting with Poroshenko, the Polish president-elect should take office, which is scheduled for August 6, after the inauguration, Deschytsia said.

"We expect that President Andrzej Duda will continue the policy carried out by the previous president, which is seen from what was announced in public by Andrzej Duda when running for presidency. This includes support of [Ukraine's] European Union membership," the Ukrainian ambassador said.

Possible dates for the two presidents' meeting are still under discussion, he added.
