"The extension of the sanctions is still under consideration," the source told UNIAN's own correspondent in the EU.

Ukrainian Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin announced earlier on Thursday that sanctions against Serhiy Kliuyev had been extended.

Early in March, EU sanctions against 14 individuals who were high-ranking officials during Viktor Yanukovych's presidency were prolonged for another 12 months, while sanctions against another four were extended until June 6. On the blacklist until June 2015 are former Justice Minister Olena Lukash, Viktor Yanukovych Junior (Yanukovych's younger son who drowned in Lake Baikal in Russia late in March 2015), Serhiy Kliuyev, and former Education Minister Dmytro Tabachnyk.
