U.S. and Ukrainian officials are planning to expand the training of Ukrainian military forces at a training base in the western part of the country.
U.S. representatives began planning possible extension of the training program, looking for the necessary funding, according to The Wall Street Journal.
However, officials said, it is the White House that is to make the final decision, but the Washington officials do not comment on this information.
Chief of Staff of the United States Army General Raymond T. Odierno said that the Ukrainian government had clearly expressed a desire to expand the scale of training.
The general said that he supported Ukraine's plans to expand the potential of training grounds.
