Leader of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) militant organization Oleksandr Zakharchenko has signed a decree to reschedule the local pseudo-elections in Donbas from October 18, 2015 to April 20, 2016, one of the DPR leaders Denis Pushylin said on Friday, according to one of the militants' website.
"We've made another step towards the dialogue with Ukraine. At the proposal of guarantors of the Minsk process – France, Germany and Russia – we agreed to postpone the local elections in the DPR from October 18 for 2016. Today, Zakharchenko signed the relevant decree," Pushylin said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, on October 2, Paris hosted a meeting of leaders of Ukraine, France, Germany and Russia on the situation in Donbas.
Poroshenko said that the participants ruled out pseudo-elections on October 18 and November 1, agreeing that such elections should be held only according to the Ukrainian legislation.
In turn, French President Francois Hollande said, the parties agreed during the negotiations that a "separate law" should be enacted to hold elections in the so-called "DPR" and "LPR."
