On behalf of Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev, the Prosecutor General's Office will probe Crimean authorities in the case on the delayed use of funds under the federal target program for the development of the peninsula, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak said, stressing that the officials responsible for the misuse of funds will face criminal liability, according to Russian newspaper Kommersant.
The announcement came after Crimea's de facto head Sergey Aksyonov had called those who commented on the current situation "anonymous figures," saying that "the question now is not about who is to blame, but what to do next." He also called on the commenters to settle down.
However, Kozak said that the resignation of top authorities of Crimea "was not on the agenda; probably, there are officials at a lower level, who don't cope well with their responsibilities."
