Poll: Poroshenko, Tymoshenko would get most of votes if ran for president

The incumbent Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko and the leader of the Batkivschyna Party and the party's faction in parliament Yulia Tymoshenko would have enjoyed the greatest support of citizens if a presidential election were held next Sunday, according to findings of a public opinion poll conducted by Gorshenin Institute, an UNIAN correspondent has reported.

According to the poll, 17.2% of respondents are ready to vote for Poroshenko, while 15.9% say they would cast their votes for Tymoshenko.

Leader of the Samopomich Party Andriy Sadoviy is supported by 11.8% of the respondents, leader of the Radical Party Oleh Liashko would win 11.8%, leader of the Opposition Bloc Yuriy Boyko 10.7%, while leader of the Hromadianska Pozytsia (Civic Position) Party Anatoliy Hrytsenko would get 10.6% of supporters' votes.

In addition, 3.6% of the respondents support former leader of the Right Sector Party Dmytro Yarosh, head of UKROP Party Hennadiy Korban would gain 3.1%, Ukraine's businessman Ihor Kolomoisky 2.5%, and the incumbent Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk 1.9%.

Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko would win 1% of votes, Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Groysman 0.8%, while 9.1% of respondents are ready to vote for other candidates.

The survey counted only those people who said they would go to the polls and who have already decided on their candidate.

The poll was conducted on February 8-17, 2016. A total of 2,000 people were questioned. The poll's margin of error is no more than 2.2%.
