Discussion of aides to Normandy Four leaders difficult and fruitless - Klimkin

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavlo Klimkin has told an UNIAN correspondent that the Friday meeting of the aides to the leaders of the Normandy Quartet in Minsk saw a difficult discussion that yielded no results.

"I will say that it was a very difficult discussion, a complex discussion that did not yield the desired result,” said Klimkin.

“Key points, as I said, were focused on the need to achieve actual security, to free hostages, and, of course, on the Roadmap concept," the foreign minister said.

"Therefore, Kostyantyn Yeliseyev will give this message, but, as I predicted, unfortunately, there is no positive drive here, and we understand, why,” Klimkin added.

During the consultations, the sides discussed the key aspects of the implementation of the Minsk agreements and emphasized the priority of implementing their security components.

Proper implementation of the agreements on heavy weapons withdrawal was also discussed.
