Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko says he sees Ukraine's membership of the Schengen zone as his goal.
"My goal is to make Ukraine part of the Schengen zone so that one can travel non-stop on the borders from Kharkiv [in Ukraine's east] to Lisbon," he said on Ukraine's ICTV channel on Monday evening.
As reported earlier, Poroshenko said he would go to Berlin on May 20 to hold talks with German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
