Ban on EU investment in Crimea to be extended for another year – journalist

The European Union's ambassadors have decided to extend a ban on investment in Russian-annexed Crimea for another 12 months, according to Brussels-based reporter of Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak.

"Eu ambs have decided to prolong EU's investment ban on #Crimea by 1 year. To be confirmed by foreign ministers on 19 June," he tweeted on Tuesday, June 6.

As UNIAN reported with reference to the U.S. edition of POLITICO, U.S. President Donald Trump's ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said on Sunday, June 4, that her understanding is that the U.S. plans to "keep our sanctions strong and tough" on Russia in response to the Kremlin's actions in Ukraine, despite reports that the White House is considering easing them.
