Ukraine’s chief border guard in intensive care after he fainted at Poroshenko-Lukashenko meeting

Head of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine Viktor Nazarenko is undergoing treatment in the intensive care unit, however, doctors claim his health condition is satisfactory, agency’s press secretary Oleh Slobodyan told 112 Ukraine TV channel.

"He spent the night under the supervision of doctors, so far his condition is stable, all vital indicators are within norm, we hope that he will recover soon and continue to fulfill his duties,"  said Slobodyan, according to 112 Ukraine.

Asked about when Nazarenko will be able to return to his office, the speaker said: "Now he is still undergoing health checks, so it's too early to draw any conclusions."

Nazarenko was provided first aid and then admitted at the Central Clinical Hospital of the State Border Guard Service in Kyiv.
