Ukrainian Deputy Foreign Minister Olena Zerkal says Russian President Vladimir Putin will put forward multiple conditions when discussing the possibility of deploying UN peacekeeping forces in Donbas.
"Considering our previous experience, I think that there will be a lengthy discussion. And I think that we will see a lot of conditions during this discussion, i.e. the conditions, under which he will agree to this mission. And I think this will be a difficult discussion," Zerkal told 112 Ukraine TV channel.
As UNIAN reported earlier, Poroshenko formed a Ukrainian delegation to participate in the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly, which launched its work in New York September 12.
On September 19, a high-level week starts.
Poroshenko intends to submit to the United Nations General Assembly the idea of deploying a peacekeeping mission in Donbas.
Russian President Vladimir Putin earlier said he considered the deployment of UN peacekeepers in Donbas "quite appropriate," but only along the line of contact and with the aim of protecting the OSCE mission.
