The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) has accused the Ukrainian border guards abducted near the town of Bryansk of illegal border crossing, the press service of the FSB told UNIAN.
"The servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine detained on October 3 are charged with violation of the border in the framework of the case initiated under the article "Illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation" the FSB said.
As UNIAN reported earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that October 3 the two servicemen went missing as they were monitoring the section of the state border in Sumy region.

On October 4, the Russian side confirmed they had detained two Ukrainian citizens who claimed to be servicemen of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
The Ukrainian side has already requested assistance in the case from the OSCE and the Commissioner for Human Rights.
