Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko claims that the intelligence officers of the State Border Guard Service saved his life during the presidential campaign in Luhansk region in 2014, according to an UNIAN correspondent.
"I can say that the border guards and intelligence officers saved my life during the presidential campaign, when I was in Luhansk – literally 200 meters from the captured building of the SBU [Security Service of Ukraine] – at Izvaryne and Dolzhanskyi [checkpoints]," the president said at the meeting with the border guards in Kyiv region on October 20.

He also noted that in February 2014, the reconnaissance was one of the first to inform on the beginning of direct military and special measures of Russia on the illegal annexation of Crimea.
