European Council President Donald Tusk said that there can be no safe Poland if the country conflicts with Ukraine, Europeiska Pravda reported citing Wiadomosci.dziennik.pl.
According to Tusk, who spoke on TVN24, there can be no European Poland without independent courts, completely free media, respect for the law, and liberal democracy, EP wrote.
"There is no safe Poland if it conflicts with Ukraine," he said.
The EC President believes Poland should not be a "self-proclaimed leader of Intermarium" - it should return to the role of a "guardian and state that supports the aspirations of countries of the so-called new Europe".
