The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Ukraine has said they did not contact the Georgian side on the issue of a possible extradition of Georgian ex-president Mikheil Saakashvili, according to Deputy Foreign Minister Vasyl Bodnar, an UNIAN correspondent reports.
"The Foreign Ministry is not negotiating. Georgia is in my competence, but there have been no contacts through the Foreign Ministry," Bodnar said at a briefing, answering the question whether the Foreign Ministry knows about the alleged negotiations between Ukraine and Georgia on extraditing Saakashvili.
The deputy minister specified that, if the Georgian side moves to submit relevant inquiries, they should be addressed to the Prosecutor General's Office via the Ministry of Justice.

Earlier, the Georgian Rustavi-2 TV channel reported that the head of the State Security Service of Georgia Vakhtang Gomelauri was holding "secret talks" with Ukrainian government officials in Belarus about the extradition of former Georgian President Saakashvili.
