Kazakh president: Trump proposes change in venue for Donbas talks – media

President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev says U.S. President Donald Trump has raised the issue of changing the venue for negotiations on the settlement of the Donbas conflict, according to Kazakhstan's news portal Today.kz.

Commenting on his recent conversation with the U.S. president over the phone, Nazarbayev said that the Minsk agreements had reached a deadlock, and peacekeepers should be introduced to Donbas, Today.kz reported.

As UNIAN reported earlier, Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko announced after talks with Trump in September 2017 that the United States had supported Ukraine's idea of deploying a UN peacekeeping mission to temporarily occupied areas in Donbas, eastern Ukraine.
