The move is in line with the Electoral Code of Ukraine.
The Central Election Commission of Ukraine has announced the start of the local election campaign from September 5.
The next local elections have been scheduled for October 25, the CEC recalls.
"On August 30, a regular meeting of the Central Election Commission was held, where the Commission announced the beginning of the local elections campaign," the CEC told UNIAN.
The agency noted that the decision was in line with the requirements of the Electoral Code.

Also, the CEC made changes to its resolution of August 8 "On the calendar plan of the main organizational measures for the preparation and conduct of local elections on October 25, 2020".
On July 15, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a resolution on the appointment of the next local elections for October 25 (No. 3809).
Elections of deputies of Donetsk and Luhansk regional councils have not been appointed as it is impossible to ensure representation of common interests of the territorial communities of villages, towns, and cities.
